Select a date range to export cars purchased within that period. Leave fields empty to include all cars.
This feature exports certain data into a CSV file.
In essentially every case, a better understanding of the car's history can be attained by searching for the car in the regular way. This will show all the payments, expenses, and past statuses of the car (e.g. sold -> refunded -> sold again).
Some items in the CSV may be confusing if not read in conjunction with the full car detail page.
A breakdown of how the rows in the CSV are chosen/what information is present:
Prior knowledge:
The logic:
Finally sort the rows by the time the car was originally bought (this should group all entries for the same car together and allow easier investigation/tracking of a car's history in the spreadsheet).
The goal of this is for any given time period, the CSV will reflect the state of sterling sandbox at that time. This means both sales and purchases that have occurred in that time period.
So, for the most accurate picture of the dealership at a specific time, do not specify a start or an end date. This means all purchases and sales will be present.
Finally, a note on the owed price calculation. Profit figures are (currently) frozen for each sale. This means that the profit figure for that sale is stored in the 'sold' status i.e. adding an extra expense after the sale will not affect the profit figure for this sale. This is to avoid retroactively messing with old records that have potentially been used for VAT calculation etc. This is entirely a choice - if this is not desireable, please let me ([email protected]) know and I can change it so adding expenses retroactively changes figures for the profit on each sale.
Additionaly, for cars that have been previously refunded, the owed price is calculated by adding up all purchase price and refund expenses, then adding back the sale price for each time the vehicle has been sold. This means that if someone pays £1000 for a vehicle and is refunded £9000, then the owed price of the vehicle decreases by £1000 for the next sale. I have attempted to show this in the spreadsheet - but again going into the system and looking at the full car detail page will likely give a better understanding of the car's history.
